Refuge and Strength

I found a Psalm to go along with an article I read last night that I'm too embarrassed to link to but the prayer is valid anyway. I abhor arrogance implied of any type that may restrict an individual's ability to build a life that is responsive to their needs stemming from independence and tranquility. For me these verses imply submission and praise.

Psalm 46
God Our Refuge

8 Come, see the works of the LORD,
who brings devastation on the earth.

9 He makes wars cease throughout the earth.
He shatters bows and cuts spears to pieces;
He burns up the chariots.

10 "Stop [your fighting]—and know that I am God,
exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth."

11 The LORD of Hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
