Liberal Narrative

Who needs facts when they get in the way of a typical human interest story?
Obama Skipping Alfalfa Club Dinner On Saturday

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration is considering several steps that would review the legality of the controversial Bowl Championship Series, the Justice Department said in a letter Friday to a senator who had asked for an antitrust review.

The president's anti-Wall Street rhetoric is not good for the economy, and may hurt his party politically.

Glossy Denial

What did Obama mean when he finally declared that we are "at war"?

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti—Scott Lewis hoped to deliver more than one million meals to Haitians on Wednesday via a 15-truck convoy brimming with beans and rice.

Instead, "It was the convoy to nowhere," Mr. Lewis said. Well after dusk, the 52-year-old founder of a U.S. disaster-relief organization had barely delivered any food, other than some bags left at a missionary hospital, and a few more bags that got looted from the convoy as it crawled along crowded streets.

"We failed today!" Mr. Lewis shouted.
"People are dying and we failed."

White House orders Justice Department to look for other places to hold 9/11 terror trial

Taxpayers won that round!

Imagine this nightmare courtroom scenario: Unhinged Jew-bashing, open mockery of American soldiers, juror intimidation and coldly calculated exploitation of U.S. constitutional protections by a suspected al-Qaida defendant. Well, there’s no need to wait for the Gitmo terror trial circuses. New York City is already getting a glimpse of the future.

Counterterrorism Scorecard

New Jersey Store Clerk: ‘A+’
On January 25, a little before 4:00 a.m., a clerk at the Quick Chek on Route 28 in Branchburg, New Jersey, noticed a black male in a military jacket acting suspiciously inside the all-night convenience store. The clerk called the police. Patrolman Steven Cronce showed up and, after conducting a field interview, agreed with the clerk’s assessment.

Congress: ‘F’
There are 535 members of Congress. There are 80 congressional committees and sub-committees dealing with homeland security. Eighty. And between them, they collectively failed three out of seventeen subjects and got an incomplete in the subject of Pakistani nukes.

These two stories epitomize what the war on terror has come to in 2010. The average citizen takes action, or is forced to take action, while an impotent Congress rearranges deck chairs on the Titanic for pay.

Haitian Shore

The way out of Haiti’s grinding poverty is not rocket science.
Ranking countries according to:
(1) whether they are more or less free market,
(2) per capita income, and
(3) ranking in International Amnesty’s human rights protection index,

We would find that those nations with a larger free market sector tend also to be those with the higher income and greater human rights protections. Haitian President Rene Preval is not enthusiastic about free markets; his heroes are none other than the hemisphere’s two brutal communist tyrants: Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Cuba’s Fidel Castro.

Health Care Bill is Dead

‘God Didn’t Create the Filibuster’
"I think you can make a pretty good argument
that health care might be dead."

The health care bill, ObamaCare, is dead with not
the slightest prospect of resurrection.

Brown ran to be the 41st vote for filibuster and now he is just that. Democrats have talked up clever strategies to pass the bill in the Senate despite Brown, but they won’t fly. It’s one thing for ObamaCare to be rejected by the American public in poll after poll. But it becomes a matter of considerably greater political magnitude when ObamaCare causes the loss of a Senate race in the blue state of Massachusetts.

Women are voting for Brown because he's a "hunk."

Scholar Debunks 'Haitian Devil'

The suggestion that Haiti's historic woes stem from a deal with the devil comes from a 19th-century "fabrication" meant to discredit its slave rebellion and Vodou religion, a Caribbean scholar said Thursday. "This is a longstanding trope of anti-Haitian venom," Kate Ramsey, a researcher at the University of Miami, told CNN.

Discrediting voodoo is anti-Haitian venom? So the Catholics are evil again and even mad at Evangelicals for bringing it up. Why that boggles.

"It took him three days to go out and talk about the Christmas Day Underwear Bomber. It took him less than 18 hours to get out there and start rallying people about this earthquake.

I did say Obama will use this to help burnish his credentials, 'cause there's no question he will. "

I admit a great deal of ignorance but I can't bring myself to call Pat Robertson names either. Does everybody believe Pangaea is real? I don't discount plate tectonic theory on basis of regional predictions but the theory still ends up being the basis for global warming alarmism.

Continents don't go to heaven like people do unlike environmentalists who think the rotting earth is the end of everything. It's all about the personal mindset. If Jesus is the only way then do works count for nothing? It all begins with your choice on the matter and what you intend to do after the benefits of your endeavor bring abundance whether in this life or the next.

The Wednesday comments were based on Voodoo rituals carried out before a slave rebellion against French colonists in 1791.
Spokesman Chris Roslan says Robertson never stated that Tuesday's earthquake was God's wrath. He says Robertson's Operation Blessing group is sending millions of dollars in medication and relief workers to the country.

But a loss would seriously undermine efforts to win same-sex marriage rights in state courts.

Flashback: Moral Clarity and the Fall of the Wall
The twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall was an important landmark in human history. That wall, one of history's most heinous symbols of oppression, stood as a physical reminder of Communism's essence. The Wall was not built to keep invaders out, but to imprison a people within. In the singular interest of avoiding its own evacuation, the Soviet-backed government of the German Democratic Republic erected that wall and murdered those who attempted to cross it.
