I keep thinking I should be better on my own then I read stuff like this.

Psalm 37
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.

Where's Al Gore?

JONATHON PORRITT, one of Gordon Brown’s leading green advisers, is to warn that Britain must drastically reduce its population if it is to build a sustainable society.

“Population growth, plus economic growth, is putting the world under terrible pressure. "

“Each person in Britain has far more impact on the environment than those in developing countries so cutting our population is one way to reduce that impact.”

The trust will release research suggesting UK population must be cut to 30m if the country wants to feed itself sustainably.

Um.....

Psalm 19: 12-13
Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors. Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be upright, I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression.

Can NBC Do the Bible?

Clearly, Kings is not a straight-on analogy or direct reimagining of the Old Testament. However, for a network TV show to talk so openly about God, His anointing and even make such close references to the Bible, is notable. And, the show is incredibly well made with beautiful cinematography, great acting and gripping dialogue. Its source material is one of the most adventure-ridden, tragic and redeeming stories in scripture. If it can at least express some of the themes from the Bible, than it will be a welcomed departure from the standard primetime fare.

Refuge and Strength

I found a Psalm to go along with an article I read last night that I'm too embarrassed to link to but the prayer is valid anyway. I abhor arrogance implied of any type that may restrict an individual's ability to build a life that is responsive to their needs stemming from independence and tranquility. For me these verses imply submission and praise.

Psalm 46
God Our Refuge

8 Come, see the works of the LORD,
who brings devastation on the earth.

9 He makes wars cease throughout the earth.
He shatters bows and cuts spears to pieces;
He burns up the chariots.

10 "Stop [your fighting]—and know that I am God,
exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth."

11 The LORD of Hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Servant’s Heart

LEXINGTON, Va. -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in a rare public speech told a crowd at a Virginia college that Americans today don't make the sacrifices of the generations before them.

Epaphroditus the faithful V. 25-30
Balance v.25 – Fellowship, labor, soldier all these in balance too much of one leaves the others vulnerable and us weak. Nehemiah 4:15-20
Burden v.26-27 – For others, a heaviness in your heart a distress for others. Matthew 26:36-38
Blessing v.28-30 – He was a blessing to Paul and the Church in Philippi and he in turn received a blessing. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

Philippians 3:1-11
7 But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ.

Welcome to Free Will

Look, If you want to know where all the real sinners are, go to church. You’ll see them on their knees begging for forgiveness and admitting they cherished something else in their hearts over God. But if you want to know where the real Devils are, go to Hollywood where the path to hell is paved in gold.

To quote C.S. Lewis, my favorite atheist convert, “Christianity has not been tried and found false — it’s been tried and found too difficult.”

The precise goal of a Devilish society is to get as many people away from God as possible through a steady diet of media distractions and stories and role models all meant to edify their Devilish position while tearing down ours. It’s completely harmless to us if others in society are not up for what Christianity asks of its faithful, but where we draw the line is the distorted representation of faithful people in our pop culture entertainment, a culture dominated by secularist ideals and themes.

Eyeblast

Wasilla, Alaska (AP) - Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin, the teenage daughter of Gov. Sarah Palin, have broken off their engagement, he said Wednesday, about 2 1/2 months after the couple had a baby.

I don't blame the guy for not wanting to deal with the pressure, but he should be made to suck it up anyway!

I do not understand this at all with all this coverage of Bristol Palin but I guess she should take solace in the fact her crappy life gets further exposure from conservative sources in the course of rejecting the Daily Kos? WTF?

It's impossible to try and patch up these kind of voyeuristic messes without making an effort to shut down the Daily Kos but no one is willing to do that unless the Palins are baiting them which would be awesome, but I doubt the Supreme Court would allow any satisfactory ruling and probably award the offended with Citibank stock for their effort. Nobody deserves to be buried in garbage it doesn't matter where they come from, or even in the extreme case where it's suggested that Britney likes it.

Exactly What I'm Saying

MEXICO CITY, March 11 (Reuters) - Mexico's most wanted man Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman, blamed for thousands of deaths in a drug war, has made it onto the Forbes Magazine list of the world's richest people with an estimated $1 billion fortune.

Guzman, who is just 5 feet tall (1.55 metres), escaped from prison in 2001 to set off a wave of killings across Mexico in an attempt to dominate the country's highly lucrative drug trade into the United States.

"He is not available for interviews," Luisa Kroll, senior editor of Forbes, said on Wednesday. "But his financial situation is doing quite well."

Take the money out of it....

Evangelical Collapse?

Evangelicalism needs a "rescue mission" from the world Christian community. It is time for missionaries to come to America from Asia and Africa. Will they come? Will they be able to bring to our culture a more vital form of Christianity?

Well the answer is easy, take the money out of the equation (timestamp 3:14) otherwise why run the risk of splitting the base?

Never give in — never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age, made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.' -- Winston Churchill
John 17

14 I have given them Your word.
The world hated them
because they are not of the world,
as I am not of the world.

15 I am not praying
that You take them out of the world
but that You protect them from the evil one.

16 They are not of the world,
as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them by the truth;
Your word is truth.

18 As You sent Me into the world,
I also have sent them into the world.

19 I sanctify Myself for them,
so they also may be sanctified by the truth.

Um, Obama's Turning the USA Communist?

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has test-fired a new air-to-surface missile, Iranian media reported on Sunday, in the Islamic Republic's latest display of its military capability.

There's a lot of area between here and Iran or Israel so if the area is saturated with missile screens 3 to 1 that would optimistically negate any successful attacks. But no, not on Obama's watch while he make nice with Russia and China and leaves us unprotected, why there's still George Bush to blame for the economy. Now that's opportunity!

Sarah Tries Populism

Let me say one more thing about my friend and your governor: he knows all human life is precious. Rick Perry believes in protecting the most vulnerable in society, and who is more vulnerable than an unborn child? Our value as human beings in the eyes of Our Creator is not diminished by any circumstance.

Not every child is born into ideal circumstances, but every life is sacred. Rick Perry knows this – it is at the core of his being.

WTF does that even mean? Does she think this guy can be counted on for a conservative vote or flip when he feels like it? I guess she's more concerned with the energy issues and this endorsement is strategic.

Hardship

God made a new world
A golden blue orb flowing sunshine
When it was done he stepped back and weeped
Hands clasped over his heart he called it joy

Too embarrassed to really respond although...

I don't want to bother smart girl on twitter any more than I have today but I was thinking. Now that TV will be going digital what happens to analog? Could airwave stations be used by churches with a broadcast ministry for alternative programing and news sources? If feasible how could groups promote the idea? I should at least google that later.
